Mikao Usui was the originator of what we today call Reiki. He was born on August 15th, 1865 in the Japanese village of ‘Taniai-mura’ in the Yamagata district of Gifu prefecture, Kyoto.
In honour of Dr Usui and his life mission to develop a healing and personal development system that can assist people in the lives.
Reiki has enriched my life for nearly 15 years. I can’t begin to describe the many amazing experiences I have had because of it and how my life has changed.
Reiki, if used consciously in a grounded way, can develop and expand our consciousness, enabling us to live from a larger perspective while including all that life is the good and the bad.
Reiki is like a strict, loving parent to me, guiding and assisting me in many ways. Not always giving me what I want but still giving me what I need, even when it is difficult.
I honour Dr Usui and all that he did to allow Reiki to come into my life. I also admire the teachers that came after him down through time and the Reiki lineage to myself. I intend to be the best I can be in offering Reiki and personal development to whatever people need me. Thank you, Dr Usui, my life wouldn’t be what it is if Reiki hadn’t found me.
