NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming

Neuro – stands for the nervous system (Mind), the intricate network of processes and functions:  visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory and gustatory.

Linguistics – Language and all non-verbal communication processes through which neural representations are arranged in order and given meaning. These processes include pictures, sounds, feelings, tastes, smells and words (self-talk).

Programming – The ability to discover and utilise the programs that we run (our communication to ourselves and others) in our neurological systems to achieve our specific and desired outcomes. In other words, NLP is the how to, use language, image and feelings (software) of the mind to assist you in developing strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

NLP is the study of excellence, which means how anybody from any background who is an expert in their field does what they do.  it’s the study of our subjective internal experience.

Top athletes, business people, painters and therapists, anyone who is an expert at something, the question is: how do they do it?

What do they think about themselves? What are their beliefs, values, capabilities and behaviour? What do they see, hear and feel in their minds and bodies?

How do they move, and what do they think about the people they are working with or around?

NLP is the process of taking what experts do and modelling it to achieve the same results. Dr Richard Bandler and John Grinder are the co-founders of NLP. Back in the 70s, they wanted to know why certain people were successful at certain things and why other people weren’t so fortunate.

We all have the same brains so why can’t we all achieve what we want to?

The founders of NLP  modelled the likes of Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson to find out how the best people in their respective fields did what they did and they also undertook lots of experiments with people.

They came up with NLP which is Neuro meaning the brain, linguistic as the language we use and programming is the behaviour patterns of everything we have experienced since birth. NLP is safe and effective. It can create rapid results and help people to change their lives and become who they want to be.
